An access log includes a record of all files that have been requested by the visitors while browsing your website. The list is comprehensive, so if you have a web page with two embedded images, for instance, all of the three files will be in the log, not just the page. An access log usually features the date, the Operating System, the Internet browser and the IP address for every file in human-readable form, so you can get an idea about the most popular files on your website. The log, that's also typically referred to as "raw data", is an addition to the web data which you commonly get with a hosting account, not a substitute. One example why you might need this type of a log is if you would like to use some software on your personal computer to prepare a report about the website’s functionality, but you don't want to use the standard graphs and tables which come with the server-generated web statistics.
Access Log Manager in Shared Website Hosting
If you opt for one of our shared website hosting solutions, you will receive in-depth access logs for all of your Internet sites. When you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see a full list of the domain names and subdomains you have added or created in the hosting account. You'll simply have to click on the On button, which is found on the right-hand side of every hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs right away. To disable this feature, you will need to follow the exact same steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be handled independently and at any time. You will find a download link in the Logs section of the CP for every log generated by our system, so you can save the file to your personal computer and view it or use it through some log processing software.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you host your sites inside a semi-dedicated server account with us, you shall have the option to trigger or deactivate the generation of access logs with no more than a couple of mouse clicks from your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You shall find this feature in the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access when you sign in. All it takes for our system to start generating logs is a single click on the On button that you will see there. The feature can be activated individually for any site no matter if it uses a domain name or a subdomain and you shall find the full list of all the hosts in that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with just a click and you may then see it manually or use some software on your personal computer. The log generation may be deactivated by simply changing the On option to Off within the Logs section of your CP.
